Dr. Kai-Fu Lee is one of the most prominent tech leaders, an AI expert, tech investor in China, and the inventor of the world’s first speaker-independent, continuous speech recognition AI system.
He holds a BS in computer science Columbia University and a PhD from Carnegie Mellon, and acts as Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Council. Dr. Lee has held executive positions for some of the biggest names in the game: starting his career at the Apple empire in 1990, moving to SGI for two years, going on to become the Founder and Managing Director of Microsoft Research Asia, and continuing his impressive career as Founding President of Google China.
Dr. Lee has helped many young people advance their journey of entrepreneurships, and is one of the most followed Weibo bloggers in China with more than 50 million followers. Currently Dr. Lee is the Chairman and CEO of Sinovation Ventures, a leading technology investment firm focusing on developing the next generation of Chinese high-tech companies.
Sinovation Ventures is a tech venture capital in China, started in 2009 by a team led by Dr. Kai-Fu Lee. Sinovation Ventures and its Artificial Intelligence Institute now operate in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Nanjing.
