How might we enable electric mobility in urban areas?

The transition to electric mobility is happening at high speed. But beyond building electric vehicles, car manufacturers need to think about the way customers will be able to integrate electric cars in their everyday life. Especially in urban areas, transitioning to electric mobility means changing habits. What challenges do users face when transitioning to electric mobility in the city – both in terms of infrastructure and changes of habits? Which solutions might Audi, as a premium mobility provider, offer to face these challenges beyond the product „car“?

In the Audi Denkwerkstatt in Berlin, she now helps teams of Audi employees in this one of a kind intrapreneurship program to bring their ideas to life. Her motivation? Asking the right questions to create the right products.

Dr. Jan Schäfer

Venture Development, Audi Denkwerkstatt Forging new paths – this is what has driven Jan since he joined Audi in 2012 after his Ph.D. in Engineering. First in the Technology Development and later in the Production Strategy, he intensively worked on digital business models and the cultural transformation of industrial companies. He now uses this combination of scientific, technical and strategic expertise within the Audi Denkwerkstatt in Berlin – and helps teams make great products out of great ideas.

Dr. Matthias Brendel

Head of Audi Denkwerkstatt After graduating with a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, Matthias got into engine development at Audi. For more than 15 years he has been working as an entrepreneur and is fascinated by the start-up scene. His current job as Head of the Audi Denkwerkstatt is the perfect combination of these interests – always on the look-out for new partners from the Berlin digital ecosystem to bring forward the future of mobility.
